Product and application brief
Wood screw enquiries should identify the intended timber connection and the selected screw construction. Countersunk or other heads, full or partial threads and point designs are separate requirements. This general product entry does not establish structural approval or suitability for every timber and exposure condition.
Head, drive and thread arrangement
State the specified head and drive, overall length convention and full or partial threading. Where a plain shank is required, define its length and diameter. The pictured partially threaded form illustrates appearance, not the only possible order specification.
Timber connection and preparation
Provide the timber or wood-based material, member thicknesses, connection drawing and approved pre-drilling or installation requirements. Material condition and the selected joint affect suitability; avoid a generic screw-for-all-wood assumption.
Exposure and structural boundaries
Define interior or exterior exposure and the required material, finish and evidence. A finish colour does not establish corrosion performance. Structural timber requirements need the selected approved product and documents; ordinary wood screw appearance does not prove an approval.
Specification checklist for quotation
Provide the required specification and quantity with units. These inputs are not a guaranteed stock range or a product approval.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Reference / use | Controlled product reference or drawing and intended timber connection |
| Head / drive | Head geometry, drive and bearing or countersunk requirements |
| Thread / point | Diameter, thread construction, plain shank if required and point |
| Length / joint | Length convention, member thicknesses and approved installation requirements |
| Material / exposure | Specified metal, coating, exposure criteria and required documents |
| Order | Quantity with units by size, packing, inspection and destination |
Common purchasing questions
Are wood screws and drywall screws equivalent?
No automatic substitution should be assumed. Identify the connection and selected product requirements; head and thread appearance alone do not establish equivalence.
Does this page confirm structural timber approval?
No. Send the exact approved product reference and required documents. Any applicable approval must be confirmed for that product and intended use.
Prepare your order brief
Attach the complete product reference or a controlled drawing with revision. List quantities and units for each size, material and finish; include the destination, packing and document requirements. Mark missing or unresolved items for review. Supply scope and any exceptions are confirmed for the actual quotation.
