Product and application brief
Straight anchor rods may be specified with full thread or with threaded ends and an unthreaded middle. End anchorage and accessory details belong in the order drawing.
State whether the rod is part of a cast-in anchorage detail and identify any head, nut, plate or other specified anchoring arrangement. A straight threaded rod is not automatically a complete anchoring system.
Specification checklist for quotation
The table defines the information to send, not a guaranteed stock range or a substitute for an approved technical specification.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Rod form | Full thread or threaded ends with smooth middle |
| Dimensions | Overall length, diameter and thread lengths at each end |
| End arrangement | Head, nuts, plate or other drawing-defined details |
| Material / grade | Anchor-rod standard, grade and revision where applicable |
| Finish | Coating and permitted coated / uncoated lengths |
| Order requirements | Accessories, reports, quantity and shipment destination |
Selection and compatibility
Use the studs and threaded rods category for general threaded-rod enquiries. Use this page when the part is defined by a foundation anchoring requirement.
ASTM F1554 covers relevant anchor-rod configurations, but the order must still identify the actual grade and geometry. Do not assume all general-purpose threaded rods comply with a specified anchor-rod requirement.
Prepare the order brief
Send a controlled drawing or complete product reference, plus quantities by size. Identify the inspection reports, packaging and shipping requirements needed for your order. If a requirement is not settled, mark it as needing confirmation rather than assuming a substitute.
Read the anchor bolts enquiry checklist before submitting your parts list.
Are straight anchor rods the same as ordinary threaded rods?
They can share a similar form, but their governing material, mechanical properties, dimensions, inspection and intended anchorage requirements may differ. Quote the project requirement rather than appearance alone.

Technical reference
ASTM F1554 identifies anchor-rod requirements, not mechanical expansion-anchor requirements. Use the project-required grade and revision.
