Product and application brief
L-shaped anchor bolts are bent rods whose geometry and projecting thread are defined by the foundation or equipment-base drawing.
Provide the controlled drawing for the intended cast-in foundation connection, including the project anchorage detail. The shape name is not enough to determine the part or its engineered capacity.
Specification checklist for quotation
The table defines the information to send, not a guaranteed stock range or a substitute for an approved technical specification.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Rod geometry | Diameter, overall length and straight-leg dimensions |
| Bend | Bend angle, radius and how dimensions are measured |
| Thread | Thread system, threaded length and projection |
| Material | Specified anchor-rod standard / grade or material designation |
| Accessories | Nuts, washers, template or plate requirements |
| Finish and order | Coated length, quantity, packing and destination |
Selection and compatibility
Select an L-shaped enquiry only when the approved drawing calls for that geometry. J-shaped or straight anchor rods require their own drawing and anchorage detail.
If ASTM F1554 is specified, include the required grade and revision. Do not assume a cast-in anchor rod and a mechanical expansion anchor meet the same specification. Foundation capacity is determined by the approved design.
Prepare the order brief
Send a controlled drawing or complete product reference, plus quantities by size. Identify the inspection reports, packaging and shipping requirements needed for your order. If a requirement is not settled, mark it as needing confirmation rather than assuming a substitute.
Read the anchor bolts enquiry checklist before submitting your parts list.
Can I specify the rod using only diameter and total length?
Those dimensions are incomplete for a bent rod. Include the bend geometry, thread length, material / grade, coating and matching components.

Technical reference
ASTM F1554 identifies anchor-rod requirements, not mechanical expansion-anchor requirements. Use the project-required grade and revision.
