Identify the assembly
Start with the governing project specification and its required revision. State whether the connection uses heavy hex or tension-control assemblies. A325 and A490 are familiar structural grade references within the ASTM F3125 system; a tension-control enquiry needs its own exact designation. Do not use a general metric property class as an automatic substitute.
List every component
For each bolt size, list the number of sets and the required nut and washer count. Include their standards, grades and any dimensional requirements. If you are purchasing replacement components only, identify the assembly they must match.
Define dimensions and units
Provide diameter, bolt length, thread requirement and the project unit system. Attach the approved bill of materials or drawing. State how length is measured and separate genuinely different assembly requirements into different order lines.
Agree finish and evidence
Provide the permitted coating process, required tests, identification and traceability documents. Confirm the inspection scope before comparing quoted prices; similarly named components are not necessarily being quoted to the same requirements.
Leave installation to the approved procedure
The purchase brief should identify the required installation system and verification documents. This checklist does not supply a universal torque or permission to change a structural connection. The responsible designer must approve changes.

Replace the bracketed fields with your approved requirements. This is an order-brief format, not a stock offer or design recommendation.
Structural assembly: [standard / designation / revision]; diameter and length: [dimensions]; matching nut and washer requirements: [references]; finish: [approved finish]; quantity: [complete sets]; inspection: [documents]; destination: [country].
