Hose Clamps

Worm drive, T-bolt, trunnion and spring band hose clamps: construction types, diameter ranges and material specifications.

Product and application brief

Hose clamps secure a flexible hose around a fitting. Their closure mechanism distinguishes the main product forms; a similar diameter alone does not make two clamps interchangeable. This range covers standard clamp patterns and drawing-based band or closure variations.

Product forms and reference names

Product form / fieldReference and distinguishing details
Worm drive hose clampsA screw engages the band to adjust the loop. NORMA TORRO is a manufacturer reference; its embossed worm-drive range cites DIN 3017. Perforated and embossed bands are different constructions.
T-bolt hose clampsA threaded T-bolt and nut close the band. Plain and spring-loaded closures are separate variants; specify the exact construction.
Trunnion clampsNORMA GBS is a maker series reference for a bolted trunnion-style closure, not a universal standard number.
Spring band hose clampsA one-piece spring band rather than a worm screw. NORMA FBS is a maker reference; its clamp size must be identified separately from adjustable-band ranges.

Diameter means a working range

For an adjustable clamp, state the minimum and maximum clamping diameter in millimetres. Also identify the assembled hose outside diameter over the fitting. A nominal hose bore is not the clamp diameter.

Band and closure materials

Specify the band, housing, screw, bolt and nut materials separately. A stainless band does not by itself establish that the entire assembly is stainless. State the finish and any requested material designation rather than relying on a catalog nickname.

Standard and custom patterns

For a standard item, include the product form and selected reference. For a custom clamp, show the band profile, closure arrangement and dimensional tolerances. Operating suitability and installation instructions depend on the selected product; no pressure or torque rating is inferred here.

Common product questions

Are worm-drive and T-bolt clamps equivalent?

No. Their closures and band construction differ. Compare the complete specification, not only the diameter.

Is TORRO or GBS a standard number?

No. These are NORMA manufacturer series names. They help identify a construction, but do not establish universal interchangeability.

What size should I specify?

Use the required clamping range and the assembled hose outside diameter, with explicit units. Do not use hose bore alone.
