Product and application brief
Beam clamps attach a selected connection to a beam flange. Product identification depends on the flange interface, clamp body, closure and attachment point. This page describes product forms only; it does not select structural connections or authorize lifting.
Product forms and reference names
| Product form / field | Reference and distinguishing details |
|---|---|
| Set-screw beam clamps | A compact body locates over the flange and a screw closes against it. Specify the body geometry, flange interface and attachment thread. |
| Bottom / side tapped-hole clamps | nVent CADDY BC200/BC400 identifies a manufacturer family with threaded holes on the back and bottom. These codes are not universal standards. |
| Stamped beam clamps | nVent lists SBC stamped beam clamps as a separate form. A stamped clamp should not be treated as an equivalent to a cast or other formed body. |
| Threaded-rod attachment variants | nVent lists BC10 and swivel-related forms separately. Identify the exact connection and orientation rather than using a generic beam-clamp description. |
Keep flange geometry explicit
Include flange thickness, edge shape or slope, available engagement and attachment direction on the selected drawing. A clamp name or visual resemblance does not establish fit or suitability.
Product-specific requirements remain separate
Any rating, installation requirement or approval belongs to a specific tested product and configuration. Third-party certificates do not transfer to a visually similar part. We do not infer allowable load, tightening torque or lifting use from a reference name.
Reference versus interchangeability
Use maker series names to describe the intended form, or provide the required drawing. A replacement needs its own dimensional and application assessment; this product overview is not a substitution approval.
Specification fields
| Product form / field | Reference and distinguishing details |
|---|---|
| Beam interface | Flange dimensions, profile, slope and required engagement, from the selected specification. |
| Body / closure | Construction, jaw geometry, set screw and locking arrangement. |
| Attachment | Thread size/pitch, bottom or side connection and orientation. |
| Material / finish | Required material specification and finish for body and separate fasteners. |
| Documents | Exact product reference or drawing revision; application requirements supplied separately. |

Common product questions
Is BC200 a standard designation?
No. It is a nVent CADDY manufacturer reference. It does not establish a universal beam-clamp specification.
Does this page provide a load rating?
No. Ratings depend on the selected product, configuration and application assessment. No allowable load is stated here.
Can a similar-looking clamp be used for lifting?
Visual similarity does not authorize lifting or structural use. Such use requires the specifically selected and assessed product and its instructions.
