Product and application brief
Quote the unthreaded and threaded portions explicitly when those details matter to the connection. Provide the head form and dimensional reference, rather than requesting a partial thread bolt using overall length alone.
Specification checklist for quotation
These are the inputs needed to review an enquiry, not a guaranteed stock range or a substitute for an approved specification.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Reference | Product standard / edition or drawing number and revision |
| Geometry | Nominal diameter, overall length and head requirements |
| Threaded portion | Thread system, pitch, tolerance and required thread length |
| Smooth shank | Required shank length / diameter and any drawing tolerances |
| Material and finish | Specified mechanical requirement and surface treatment |
| Order | Quantity, mating hardware, documents and destination |
Selection and compatibility
Choose this route for a connection that calls for an unthreaded shank. Full-thread hex bolts are a separate purchasing option, not an automatic replacement.
This page does not establish a permissible shear plane, connection capacity or installation torque. Those conditions must be resolved by the approved connection requirements.
Can I specify only diameter and overall length?
Provide the governing standard as well, or a drawing that defines the thread and plain shank. Without that reference, the same overall size may describe different geometries.
Prepare your order brief
Attach a controlled drawing or complete product reference and list quantities by size. Define the required inspection, packaging and delivery destination. Mark unresolved details for confirmation instead of assuming a substitute. We review availability, finish, MOQ and production timing against the actual enquiry before the order is agreed.
