Product and application brief
Identify the head, flange and underside details required by the assembly. Specify whether the bearing face is plain or has a defined serration, and include the mating component so the quotation can be reviewed against the actual connection.
Specification checklist for quotation
These are the inputs needed to review an enquiry, not a guaranteed stock range or a substitute for an approved specification.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Product definition | Exact flange-bolt reference and revision or drawing |
| Head and flange | Across-flats, head height, flange diameter and face detail as specified |
| Thread and length | Diameter, pitch, tolerance, overall and threaded lengths |
| Material | Specified metal and mechanical requirement |
| Surface | Finish and any bearing-face restrictions |
| Order | Quantity, matching parts, inspection and destination |
Selection and compatibility
Flange bolts and ordinary hex bolts have different head and bearing-face requirements. A separate washer should not be omitted or added without checking the approved assembly brief.
Do not assume every flange bolt has a serrated underside or establishes a locking function. Identify the actual geometry and approved installation conditions.
Are serrated and plain flange bolts the same order item?
No. Describe the required flange underside in the enquiry. Where it is drawing-defined, attach that drawing and list each version separately.
Prepare your order brief
Attach a controlled drawing or complete product reference and list quantities by size. Define the required inspection, packaging and delivery destination. Mark unresolved details for confirmation instead of assuming a substitute. We review availability, finish, MOQ and production timing against the actual enquiry before the order is agreed.
