A threaded lifting point, not an inline connector
A swivel hoist ring is an assembled lifting point with an attachment bolt or threaded mounting interface, a swivel body and a lifting ring or bail. It mounts to a specified workpiece or approved attachment arrangement. It is different from an inline two-end swivel connector, a fixed eye bolt or a removable chain coupling. Appearance alone does not establish rated lifting suitability or supply qualification.
Identify the complete construction
| Field | What to distinguish |
|---|---|
| Bail and pivot | A bail-style assembly has a lifting loop attached at opposed pivots. The original maker HR-125 illustration provides a structural example, not a FastenerBridge model or interchangeability claim. |
| Swivel body and mounting bolt | Identify the complete base, bolt, seating interface and selected assembly. A socket-head bolt appearance is not a bolt-grade or torque specification. |
| Alternative ring construction | Maker HR-1000 and RUD VWBG families illustrate other ring/body constructions. Do not combine their parts or transfer permissions between them. |
| Threaded interface | Provide the selected thread designation, effective projection and workpiece interface from the controlled drawing; metric and inch threads are not interchangeable. |
Positioning, pivoting and operating rotation
State whether the requirement is alignment before loading, pivoting of the bail, intermittent movement or continuous rotation during operation. These are separate conditions. A visible swivel joint or bearing description does not authorize every movement under load. Obtain current instructions for the exact selected model, revision and application; no generic full-load or continuous-rotation permission is provided here.
Mounting and mating clearances
The enquiry should identify the workpiece material and controlled mounting drawing, available thread engagement, seating surface and clearance for the selected bail and mating hook or connector. The maker's prescribed bolt and complete assembly must be identified together. Do not substitute a bolt or add spacers from appearance or nominal diameter alone. Installation and acceptance follow exact-product instructions and the application's approved design, not this illustration.
Drawing and enquiry fields
| Requirement | Provide for review |
|---|---|
| Identity | Selected maker reference or controlled drawing/revision, intended service, required standard and edition, and open requirements. |
| Thread and seating | Thread designation, effective bolt projection, mating-hole geometry and seating surface from the drawing, with units and tolerances. |
| Ring and connection | Bail opening/section, pivot clearance, swivel-body envelope and mating-component drawing. |
| Movement | Positioning versus operating movement and whether intermittent or continuous; exact-model instructions and approved application documentation. |
| Assembly and records | Required complete assembly contents, identification, inspection, traceability and qualification documents; supplied status requires order-specific confirmation. |
| Order | Specified material/finish, quantity and unit, destination and quotation requirements; flag unconfirmed commercial facts. |
Standard scope and source boundaries
ASME identifies B30.26-2026 as Rigging Hardware, with hoist rings in its stated scope. This is not a dimensional standard, proof of our compliance or a universal installation recipe. No WLL, torque, safety factor, angular allowance, temperature limit or inspection interval is assigned by this generic enquiry page. Actual use requires the exact approved assembly and application-specific documentation.
