Product and application brief
State whether the underside is plain or serrated according to the selected reference. Include clearance requirements, the mating thread and any restrictions on the contacted surface when preparing the order brief.
Specification checklist for quotation
These are the inputs needed to review an enquiry, not a guaranteed stock range or a substitute for an approved specification.
| Requirement | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Reference | Flange-nut product standard / edition or drawing |
| Thread | System, diameter, pitch and tolerance |
| Flange and body | Flange diameter, nut height and across-flats requirements |
| Bearing face | Plain / serrated or drawing-defined underside |
| Material and finish | Specified nut grade, metal and coating |
| Order | Quantity, matching bolt / stud, inspection and destination |
Selection and compatibility
A flange nut has a different bearing-face arrangement from an ordinary hex nut. Do not infer that it replaces a separately specified washer in every assembly.
The flange shape alone is not evidence of a validated anti-loosening arrangement. Identify the product and approved service requirements rather than relying on the illustration.
How do I identify the flange underside for quotation?
Provide the selected product reference or a clear controlled drawing. If you use a sample photo for identification, also supply the dimensions and required specification.
Prepare your order brief
Attach a controlled drawing or complete product reference and list quantities by size. Define the required inspection, packaging and delivery destination. Mark unresolved details for confirmation instead of assuming a substitute. We review availability, finish, MOQ and production timing against the actual enquiry before the order is agreed.
