Wire Rope Ferrules

Specify wire-rope ferrules by sleeve drawing, material, rope system and selected swaging specification; distinguish them from rope clips, hose rings and welding ferrules.

Enquiry candidate: exact construction, supply scope, documents and suitability require review before quotation. No stock, rating or certification is promised by this page.

Identify the product family

A wire-rope ferrule is a sleeve component used in a specified wire-rope termination system. It is not a U-bolt rope clip, a hose crimp ring, an electrical terminal ferrule or a ceramic welding ring. This page collects component and system inputs for an enquiry; it does not supply swaging settings or qualify a finished termination.

Generic unpressed sleeve body and end-section sketches; the selected ferrule drawing determines its actual profile and dimensions.
Technical illustration for construction identification; not to scale, a supplied-product photograph, certification or working-load rating.

Select the sleeve and rope system together

Talurit's original T-ferrule documentation identifies a turnback-ferrule family and its system-specific rope, tooling and process references. Use the actual chosen product documents to identify a sleeve/rope combination; another maker's series or a similar oval outline is not an interchangeable specification.

Keep pre-swage and finished dimensions separate

Specify the unpressed sleeve profile, length, opening and wall geometry from a controlled drawing. If the enquiry concerns a completed termination, provide the selected assembly reference and its finished inspection requirements separately. A sleeve's catalogue size is not itself a final crimp dimension or a universal rope-size match.

Standard identity is not component approval

DIN Media identifies DIN EN 13411-3:2023-03 as the German adoption of EN 13411-3:2022, covering ferrules and ferrule-securing for steel-wire-rope terminations. This is a scope/edition reference only. No full normative standard is reproduced, and neither the illustration nor the family name establishes conformity of a supplied sleeve or termination.

Tooling and acceptance remain selected-system inputs

Provide the specified swager, dies and controlled process/acceptance documents for the exact sleeve and rope system. This page does not prescribe tool force, die size, number of presses, final crimp dimensions, termination efficiency or tool compatibility. State whether you need loose sleeves or a separately specified complete termination.

Material and surfaceRequired material designation and surface condition; no alloy inferred from appearance.
Rope systemRope reference, construction/core, nominal size and the selected system's permitted component combination.
Process referenceNamed swager/die and controlled assembly instructions for the selected product; unresolved compatibility marked for confirmation.
Acceptance and orderRequested inspection/traceability documents, loose-component or complete-assembly scope, quantity, destination and requested date.

Common product questions

Is a hose crimp ring the same product?

No. This family concerns a selected steel-wire-rope termination sleeve. Hose rings, welding ferrules and rope clips have different construction and system requirements.

Does the page provide a universal pressing instruction?

No. Use the exact sleeve/rope/tooling system's controlled process and acceptance documents; no generic pressing settings or capacity are assigned here.
