Roundslings

Identify an endless roundsling by its fibre-core and protective-cover construction, effective-length datum and exact product documentation, not sleeve colour alone.

Enquiry candidate: exact construction, supply scope, documents and suitability require review before quotation. No stock, rating or certification is promised by this page.

Identify the product family

A roundsling has an endless load-bearing fibre core enclosed by an outer protective cover. The cover and the core are different construction elements and need separate material identification. This page concerns specification-led enquiries, not a completed lifting plan or an approval to use a particular sling.

Generic endless roundsling outline with a schematic cover/core cutaway; colours identify components only, not fibre, capacity or certification.
Technical illustration for construction identification; not to scale, a supplied-product photograph, certification or working-load rating.

Distinguish the core from the cover

SpanSet's original roundsling descriptions distinguish an endless fibre core from its surrounding protective sleeve. Record the selected product's core material, cover material and any additional protective sleeve separately. A surface appearance does not identify the concealed core or establish the whole product's performance.

Use a stated length datum

Provide the selected drawing's effective working-length definition and units. Do not silently substitute a full loop circumference or an unstated laid-flat measurement. Identify the mating connection and any cover/protection geometry needed for the actual product review.

Do not select by colour or apparent diameter alone

Supply the actual product/label reference and the requested documents. Colour, apparent thickness and a generic illustration do not establish WLL, core material, conformity or interchangeability. Any numerical product rating must remain attached to the exact identified product and its documentation.

A separate standard scope from flat webbing

DIN Media lists DIN EN 1492-2:2009-05, adopting EN 1492-2:2000+A1:2008, for roundslings made of man-made fibres for general-purpose use. It is distinct from the flat-webbing scope of Part 1. This reference does not certify an enquiry family or provide rigging arrangements, angle factors, environmental limits or inspection/discard instructions.

Prepare this product enquiry

Roundslings: exact product/drawing; core and cover materials; effective working-length datum; protection and mating interface; actual identification and required documents; quantity.

Enquire about Roundslings

Attach the selected drawing or product reference and list unknown fields for confirmation. Required ratings, conformity or suitability must be supported by actual product documents; no third-party maker data is transferred here.

Common product questions

Is the outer cover the same thing as the load-bearing core?

No. These are separate construction elements. Their materials and the complete selected product specification must be identified.

Can I use loop circumference as effective working length?

Do not assume they are the same datum. State the selected product drawing's length definition and units in the enquiry.
