Substrate-specific selection, not one universal mechanism
Hollow-core slab anchors are selected for a particular concrete slab and fastening system. A generic mechanical-anchor description for solid concrete does not resolve cavity layout, slab geometry, attachment interface or permitted installation conditions. Start with the exact product and project documents.
Identify the receiving interface
| Selection field | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Internally threaded example | The fischer FHY family uses an expansion sleeve and an internally threaded cone. The illustration is only a generic uninstalled appearance reference of this sleeve-and-cone form. |
| Externally threaded example | The Hilti HKH page identifies an externally threaded attachment configuration. Other variants must be identified separately; family names do not establish equivalent interfaces or interchangeable components. |
| Other anchor systems | Concrete screws and generic drop-in anchors are separate product families. A hollow-core use claim must belong to the actual selected system, not be transferred from a different catalogue example. |
Slab and installation boundaries
Do not select a drilling location, penetration depth or anchor from the illustration. Prestressing constraints, permitted positions, loads and installation acceptance belong to the responsible project design and exact system documentation. No generic drilling, torque, embedment, fire-rating or cracked-concrete qualification is stated.
Quotation fields
| Selection field | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Selected anchor | Exact manufacturer/product variant or controlled drawing and revision; identify internally threaded receiver versus externally threaded attachment. |
| Slab identification | Slab producer/type and controlled drawings, member geometry and cavity layout, relevant concrete condition and project design documents. Do not infer suitability from the word concrete. |
| Permitted location | Responsible project design and selected product instructions defining permitted fastening locations and installation checks, including prestressing constraints. No generic drilling position is supplied. |
| Thread and assembly | Thread designation, pitch/TPI, receiving thread or projecting stud, mating part references and supplied component list. Anchor-only and complete sets are separate requests. |
| Body and fixture | Drawing-based sleeve/body dimensions, cone or other setting component, fixture thickness/clearance and length datums, with units and tolerances. |
| Installation documents | Exact selected-system hole, cleaning, setting, verification and access requirements. No universal drill size, embedment, torque, load or setting-tool compatibility. |
| Order review | Specified materials/finish and exposure, required inspection/traceability or product assessment, quantities by exact variant, packing, destination and requested date. Unknowns remain for confirmation. |
Documents identify a product, not a generic standard
FHY and HKH are manufacturer family identifiers, not DIN/ISO dimensional standards. Require the actual variant, document revision and applicable project assessment when needed. The referenced FHY assessment is dated 30 August 2022; it describes a product-specific redundant non-structural system scope. This historical document identity does not establish current validity, approval for every use, cross-brand equivalence or conformity of a FastenerBridge order.
Common product questions
Is this the same as a hollow-wall anchor?
No. This page concerns hollow-core concrete slab enquiries, not gypsum board, hollow masonry or general cavity-wall fixings. Identify the actual substrate and selected anchor.
Can an ordinary drop-in anchor be substituted?
Not from its internal thread or appearance alone. Hollow-core suitability and permitted locations require the exact product documents and responsible project design.
Does an ETA reference approve a FastenerBridge order?
No. An assessment identifies its issuer, specific product and permitted scope. It is not generic conformity, brand authorization, stock or qualification for a different requested part.
