Product and application brief
Concrete screw anchors are a post-installed mechanical fastening family, not ordinary machine screws or self-drilling screws for sheet metal. Their special thread engages a pre-drilled hole by forming a matching thread in the concrete; this is not a sleeve-expansion mechanism. Thread geometry and selected hole preparation belong to the specified anchoring product. EOTA's mechanical-fastener assessment document identifies concrete screws separately from expansion and undercut fasteners. The pictured hex-flange form is a generic appearance reference, not a branded item or an approved anchor.
Product forms and reference names
| Product form / field | Reference and distinguishing details |
|---|---|
| Hex / flange-head reference | Hilti identifies HUS4-H as a hex-head screw anchor with an integrated washer-shaped bearing surface. Head form and drive remain part of the complete product reference. |
| Countersunk-head reference | fischer identifies UltraCut FBS II SK as a countersunk-head family. Match the fixture seating and specified drive; it is a different head arrangement from a projecting hex head. |
| Maker series and suffixes | fischer FBS II US and FBS II SK, and Hilti HUS4-H, are examples of maker-specific series names. Their suffixes are not global standard model codes or cross-brand equivalence claims. |
| Assessment-document identity | EOTA lists EAD 330232-02-0601, Mechanical fasteners for use in concrete; its scope includes concrete screws (CS). An EAD is an assessment basis, not a blanket ETA approval for every visually similar screw. |
Threaded anchoring body versus expansion assemblies
Keep concrete screw anchors separate from sleeve, wedge and drop-in anchors. The selected screw's thread geometry is not established by its head style alone. A generic machine-thread diameter or a visual resemblance cannot identify an equivalent concrete anchor. Preserve the complete product drawing and maker reference when assessing an alternative.
Head, drive and fixture seating
Identify a projecting hex/flange head or a countersunk seat, together with the drive and head dimensions. Confirm any integral bearing flange or separate washer requirement from the specified part. Hole and fixture seating details should come from the approved drawing, not from the appearance illustration. Do not assume one head style can replace another without reviewing the attachment geometry.
Keep drilling and anchorage fields distinct
A product schedule can separately identify screw length, drill diameter, hole depth, fixture thickness and the selected embedment. Record these as labelled fields from the exact product documentation. Do not copy one maker's values into a generic part or combine values from different variants. Actual substrate suitability, installation sequence, cleaning and tooling requirements remain product- and project-specific; this page does not prescribe installation or capacity.
Model identity does not transfer approvals
Collect any project-required ETA or other assessment number with its issuing documents, exact covered product and current revision. A third-party family page's approval, seismic/fire statement or reuse instruction is not evidence about FastenerBridge parts. Material, coating, environment and substrate must match the actual approved design. Missing production or approval documentation stays a confirmation item, not a presumed qualification.
Specification fields
| Product form / field | Reference and distinguishing details |
|---|---|
| Product / head identity | Complete maker series and part code, required drawing revision, hex/flange or countersunk head, drive, bearing/seat geometry and units. |
| Screw geometry | Nominal size, complete length datum, threaded length, concrete-engaging thread profile and lead/end geometry from the controlled drawing. |
| Hole and fixture fields | Label drill diameter, hole depth, fixture thickness and selected embedment separately; use exact required product documentation without universal values. |
| Substrate and project requirements | Concrete or other specifically assessed substrate, project conditions and required assessment documents; responsible designer selects suitability. |
| Material / finish / documents | Required steel/material designation, coating, exposure requirements, inspection/traceability and exact product-specific approval evidence if requested. |
| Order scope | Quantity in pieces, drawing/specification attachment, variant list and any accessories. Flag missing part codes, geometry or documents for confirmation. |
Common product questions
Is a concrete screw the same as a self-drilling screw?
No. These are different product families. A sheet-metal drilling point does not establish a concrete screw anchor's geometry or intended substrate.
Are maker series names global interchangeable standards?
No. Keep the complete series, suffix, size and documentation. Matching a diameter or translating a trade name does not demonstrate geometry, approval or performance equivalence.
Does mentioning an EAD or a third-party ETA approve our product?
No. An assessment basis and another manufacturer's documented product are not company compliance evidence. Obtain documents covering the exact actual product and project requirements separately.
