Threaded Rods for Adhesive Anchoring

Metal anchor rods for specified adhesive systems: identify injection or capsule arrangements, rod-end geometry, thread and length fields, accessories and product-specific documents.

Product and application brief

A threaded rod used in adhesive anchoring is a metal element of a selected bonded-fastener system, not a complete chemical-anchor kit by itself. Identify the rod and adhesive system together with the specified substrate, geometry and documentation. This page covers the metal rod enquiry; adhesive supply is not assumed. A rod's ordinary external thread does not establish its suitability for a particular resin or capsule. The pictured blunt-ended rod is a generic appearance reference, not a capsule-compatible model or production proof.

Product forms and reference names

Product form / fieldReference and distinguishing details
Injection-system rod examplefischer identifies FIS A as a threaded-rod component used with specified injection mortars. The maker instructs users to consult the selected mortar's approval. FIS A is a maker-specific series, not a universal interchangeable rod code.
Capsule-system end distinctionHilti's August 2023 anchor-rod document distinguishes chisel-point and non-chisel-point ends; it excludes HAS-V-36 from the specified HVU capsule use because that rod lacks the capsule-breaking/mixing end. This is a documented example, not an installation instruction or a current compatibility promise.
Plain all-thread geometry referenceA general fully threaded rod or cut-length stud can describe thread and length geometry. DIN 976-1 is a metric stud-bolt reference; it does not by itself qualify a metal rod for an adhesive-anchor system.
Bonded-fastener assessment identityEOTA lists EAD 330499-02-0601 for bonded fasteners and bonded expansion fasteners in concrete. This assessment basis is distinct from a manufacturer's product-specific ETA and is not company certification.

Rod and adhesive are separate identifiers

Keep the complete rod series/part reference and the prescribed adhesive or capsule identity as separate fields. Collect the relevant product-specific approval or design schedule rather than substituting a generic bar based on diameter alone. Specifying a resin trade name does not prove that every steel grade, coating or end form is covered by that system.

The end is part of the specification

Record a blunt/chamfered end, chisel point or other documented end feature and any driving arrangement. A plain-cut rod should not be presumed suitable for a capsule requiring a different end. The illustration intentionally shows no chisel point, resin, expansion sleeve or completed installation. Final end geometry must follow the actual controlled drawing and system documents.

Separate length, thread and embedment

Record overall rod length, external thread designation and pitch, required projection, fixture thickness and selected embedment as individually labelled fields. Hole geometry is another system-dependent field, not automatically the rod diameter. Nut and washer requirements also belong to the connection schedule. This page supplies no universal hole size, embedment, curing period, cleaning sequence, torque or load calculation.

Material, finish and documentary scope

Identify material/mechanical designation, finish, exposure requirements and inspection/traceability documents. Any substitution needs review against the exact selected system and project documents; another manufacturer's approval does not transfer to an unverified part. Rod-only, rod-plus-hardware and any separately requested adhesive/accessory scope must be clear in the parts list.

Specification fields

Product form / fieldReference and distinguishing details
Rod / selected systemComplete rod part reference and drawing revision; separate adhesive or capsule identity, substrate and required system-specific documents.
Thread / overall lengthNominal thread diameter, pitch, thread system/fit, complete length datum and specified projection; do not derive missing fields from a photograph.
Ends and hardwareEnd geometry and driving features; required nut/washer references, material and quantities; state whether hardware is included.
Hole / fixture / embedmentLabel hole requirements, fixture thickness, selected embedment and connection detail separately using the responsible design and exact product documentation.
Material / finish / evidenceActual specified metal/mechanical designation, coating, exposure, inspection and traceability requirements; approvals must cover the actual proposed system.
Order scope / pending fieldsQuantity in pieces, variant list, specification/drawing attachment, rod-only or hardware scope. Adhesive supply is not included by assumption; flag missing references and documents.

Common product questions

Can a DIN threaded rod automatically replace an adhesive anchor rod?

No. A geometry reference alone does not establish the rod/end/material combination covered by an adhesive system. Preserve the selected system, drawing and documentary requirements.

Is a plain-cut end interchangeable with a capsule rod end?

Not by assumption. Capsule systems may require a specific rod-end/drive arrangement. Use the exact selected system's documentation; the generic blunt-ended illustration is not evidence of capsule compatibility.

Does this enquiry include adhesive or establish an approval?

No. The metal rod is the page's product scope; adhesive and accessory supply must be separately identified. Third-party series and assessment references do not establish FastenerBridge certification or actual product approval.
