Describe the required finish
Zinc plating, hot-dip galvanizing, black oxide and other systems are not interchangeable. Include the required process and applicable product restrictions.
Thread fit and assembly
A finish can affect thread dimensions and mating fit. Specify the complete bolt, nut and washer combination and any required coating checks.
Avoid unsupported corrosion claims
A coating name alone does not establish a service life or salt-spray result. If a performance test is required, name the method and acceptance criteria.
RFQ checklist
- Exact product standard and revision, or controlled drawing.
- Diameter, length, head/body form and thread.
- Material, grade, finish and inspection documents.
- Quantity, packing and delivery destination.
